Over the past few years paranormal investigator Jack Osbourne has done it all, from investigating claims of alleged UFO sightings at the Skinwalker Ranch to trying to turn his sceptical parents, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, into believers of unexplained phenomenon. In Night of Terror, he utilises the opportunity to have his family and friends tag along while he investigates some of the most haunted destinations across America. In October 2023, Jack Osbourne’s Night of Terror premiered with five episodes. This time Osbourne and crew are investigating the following haunted locations: the Glen Tavern Inn, the Tinker Swiss Cottage, the Nevada State Prison, Ashmore Estates and Virginia City. Renowned psychic mediums Chip Coffey and Michelle Belanger are consulted for preliminary psychic sweep sessions before the commencement of the paranormal investigations. This season he invites a few of his celebrity friends, Jenny McCarthy, Jamie Kennedy and Jason Mewes as well as big sis Kelly Osbourne. However, the most surprising and memorable guest is his mother, Sharon Osbourne.

Sharon Osbourne joins her son in the first episode of the investigation at the Glen Tavern Inn, located in Santa Paula, California. Everything was going smoothly until things took a bit of a turn after Sharon was found to be non-responsive during the nighttime investigation. Jack was alerted and immediately went to the room, where he performed CPR on Sharon. After this, the episode cuts the investigation immediately to two weeks later. Jack reveals that after undergoing several extensive medical checks and tests, the doctors could find nothing wrong with his mother. Psychic Chip Coffey explained that the likely cause of the incident was that two entities tried to use Sharon as a channel at the same time, causing her body to instantly shut down. From her experience, it was clear that this would be the first and only time that she would dare to venture onto a paranormal investigation.
The second episode was at the Tinker Swiss Cottage in Rockford, Illinois, where actress/model Jenny McCarthy comes along to investigate. Jenny was a refreshingly, fun guest that brought with her a lot of positive energy as a clear believer in the paranormal, having had her own paranormal experiences. McCarthy’s husband, actor/singer Donnie Wahlberg, makes a brief cameo via a FaceTime call with his wife. All in all, a great episode with lots of solid evidence collected.

The third episode sees the return of Jack’s sister Kelly Osbourne. With the passing of each investigation that the duo has accomplished together, consulting psychic mediums like Cindy Kaza and Chip Coffey have revealed that Kelly has psychic abilities and specifically of an empathic nature. However, it was great to see Kelly wield her special skills a bit at the Nevada State Prison through Coffey’s gentle guidance. Although Kelly is still learning more about the aspect of opening up to her abilities, it was admirable how secure and confident she was during the investigation, particularly in the prison’s notorious gas chamber. It is clear that Jack and Kelly are the brother/sister dream team of paranormal investigations.
The fourth episode at the Ashmore Estates in Illinois reunites Jack with his actor friends, Jamie Kennedy, notable for his role as Randy Meeks in the Scream franchise, and Jason Mewes most known for his role as Jay in the comedic duo Jay and Silent Bob. The three have already been thrown together in previous Night of Terror episodes in their search for UFOs at the infamous Skinwalker Ranch and hunting Bigfoot in the Idaho woods. In the episode, Jamie Kennedy becomes completely freaked out when he hears a voice say his full name through the spirit box session. Ashmore Estates is a location that harbours many dark secrets, as it was once used as a “poor farm” where the underprivileged lived under inhumane and horrific conditions. It was eventually converted into a psychiatric facility until the late 1980s when it was shut down for good. Reportedly many dead people have been buried on the property without proper funeral rites and no markers which could be the explanation for the high volume of paranormal activity that takes place on the property.

The fifth and final episode takes place in one of the most renowned haunted cities in America, Virginia City, Nevada. Jack’s father, musician Ozzy Osbourne, suggested the final location as he was impressed with the fact that the entire town was known for being haunted. Virginia City is a destination that appears to be almost unchanged despite the passage of time as the residents strive to preserve the past. The former mining town is a paranormal nexus and has been investigated by many members of the paranormal community. Jack brings along his sister Kelly once again, and together they explore the Piper Opera House and Old Washoe Club, two locations notoriously synonymous with paranormal activity. There’s an intriguing session between psychic Chip Coffey and Kelly, where an entity channels its thoughts through Kelly as it directs answers to Chip’s questions. Theories of the city being a time warp and the idea of the town’s past coexisting with the present is presented during this episode. In a way, I think that they are referring to the theory of the existence of the multiverse.
Jack Osbourne’s Night of Terror is an incredibly entertaining indulgence for paranormal fans and history buffs. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like he’ll be dropping any new episodes for Halloween 2024 because he might be a bit busy with his paranormal podcast series on his YouTube channel. Nothing screams Halloween like a good old-fashioned ghost hunt! Jack Osbourne’s Night of Terror is currently available for streaming on Discovery+.
