I discovered 2023 St Kitts’ animated musical short Adaiha’s Adventure to the Movies while perusing the films on offer at Storyplay.tv. It features the singing voice, artwork and the animated image of young creative Adaiha Inanga. In the simple story Adaiha, her father and a menagerie of animals enjoy a whimsical trek as they head to the movies.
Adaiha’s Adventure to the Movies feels like a child’s artwork come to life, which is the intent as the company Stophy brings children’s drawings to life as digital creations. The short is full of colour and some odd-looking animal characters. The animation is rough and there is not much story to be had, but there is an undeniable whimsical charm. And I could see my young children having fun with it.
