Warning: Major Spoilers for Sister Bond Episode 2, mild spoilers for Episode 3
Previously on Trinidadian Spy Sci Fi Comedy Drama Web Series (still a mouthful) Sister Bond, the titular duo of private investigator Keisha (Chimere Prince) and her sister Giselle (Celina Lyons) attempted to deliver Keisha’s clownish ex Keith (Kendall Arneaud) to a mysterious man. But it was a trap, and the trio only escaped when the alien device in Keith’s possession stuns the mystery man.
In Episode 3 “What’s Going On?” Keisha and Giselle deal with the aftermath of the botched delivery and we learn more about the alien device. The new episode is a decent one from the best series (so far) of GT Network’s Ville Ventures Universe. We get more of the rapid-fire improv dialogue that the show is known for, and we get a few good chuckles in there. And the sisters berating the hapless Keith never gets old.
I do have to deduct points for the use of the r-word by one of the characters. It is used for comedic effect here but is no longer politically correct and offensive for people with mental disorders. The quicker it disappears from the global vocabulary, the better.
And there was a major decision made by the protagonists which I thought initially was kind of dumb. But then in retrospect the duo may not be the most competent at the whole private investigator thing, so this would be on brand for them.
Not a lot happens in the episode in terms of action, but the plot is moved along quite nicely as more is revealed about the alien device. And the post credits stinger is quite the enticing one. Episode 3 feels like the calm before the storm of the fourth and final episode. If the intention was to whet the appetite for the finale, then mission accomplished.
