Aye! A Rubix Cube! You know how long I eh see one ah dese?

Review: It’s Episode 2 of Trinidadian Spy Sci Fi Comedy Drama Web Series (what a mouthful!) Sister Bond, and when last we saw our heroic female duo they had taken a high-paying job from a mysterious woman to transport an unknown person to a location. #Seemslegit. The episode ended with the discovery of said person, Keith (Kendall Arneaud) who has crossed over from sister series (still no pun intended) Vaser Claw. Keisha is less than happy to see him and we discover why — she and Keith were in a relationship but he disappeared on her. When he tries to explain that he had been transported to an alien planet Keisha is having none of it, and understandably so. Prince is a real hoot this episode and her sour disposition and constant berating of Keith was hilarious.

But the episode put more focus on Keith (who is always a treat with his buffoonery) and we learn why he is so important to the shadowy organisation that hired Keisha and Giselle. Apparently, he accidentally picked up some alien device during his interstellar travels. What is it? What does it do? Why do these people want it? You’ll get some clues from the episode, as well as some fun visual effects. We also meet a new unnamed figure who may be friend or foe. I shall say no mo’.

Hey ladies. Wanna be back-up dancers in my soca video?

Episode 2 is a step up from Episode 1, and at just over eight minutes packs in a good bit of story and left me satisfied. The soundtrack also got turnt up (do people still say that? I dunno) though at some points it was a bit too loud. Otherwise, very good work here.

I am really starting to get a handle on the tone and feel of the show and I am liking it more than I expected to. Then again, I do enjoy spy intrigue, science fiction and comedy hijinks, and all three are blended well together here. And if the upward quality trend keeps up Sister Bond may go on to become my favourite show from GT Network (currently it’s Vaser Claw, in case you were wondering). Only time will tell.

Score: 7.5 out of 10
